    Consultations

    It all begins with an idea. Get some great guidance and a fresh look at your outdoor spaces. Ideas and assessments with a follow up email and some highlighted recommendations -

    Full Designs

    This is where I really get to know you and your outdoor visions. After a consultation, I will begin working on a first draft conceptual plan of the desired space(s). Throughout the process I will work with you until a final design is approved, which will be digitally provided along with a detailed plant plan and reports. This plan can be used for HOA submissions and contractors. Nursery visits are included. I will also plan on being there for plant delivery and installation day to help ensure everything is getting planted and placed properly.

    Workshops, Education

    Let me help guide you or a group with an array of hands-on experiences and educational workshops. My background is in informal education, so this has become an important part of my scope. Workshops comprise of creating a take home arrangement of the targeted specie. Specialties include Veggie beds, herbal companions, succulent mixed arrangement and bonsai.

    Arrangements, Indoor & Out

    Pot arrangements can really break the mold, incorporating different plants from unique succulents with Australian woolly bushes to cacti with California daisies. You provide the pots, or I can hit up a local nursery that has pots from all over the world for you to choose. I can choose plants that give you seasonal changes or reflect a particular holiday and theme.

    Horticultural care

    A garden is always changing, as nature is never stagnant. Whether it's a California native, desert or tropical plant, all require some attention throughout the year to help them thrive and look beautiful. Many times, plants are harmed by over watering, over fertilization and bad pruning at the wrong times of the year. Usually just once or twice a month will do it to ensure your plants and soil are happy and healthy. I bring no gas-powered tools. If I'm pruning or weeding, it will be with hand tools, if I'm fertilizing, it will be all organic materials. I will conduct soil testing as healthy soil is crucial to a long-lasting garden. I can also help with vegetable gardens, from seeding to harvesting.

    Live somewhere beyond my driving radius? With a questionnaire and good images, I can still help! I will create an online plant list, spreadsheet and Iscape visuals to help you create your vision.

About Me

I have always loved digging in the dirt.

I grew up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, near Yosemite and have always had a strong connection with our California native landscapes. For many years I pursued a different path in archaeology and science education for museums and parks. When I settled in Orange County back in 2000, I had the chance to reconnect with our local native landscapes and created science programs around the county teaching the public about our beautiful horticultural treasures. After 2020, I decided to pursue a full-time path in connecting people with more sustainable and natural landscapes (and farmscapes!) at home, both with California and other global, water wise plants. I am now certified in sustainable landscape design, horticulture and a CA certified native plant specialist. I enjoy doing unique arrangements, working with more farmscape designs and of course teaching others how to take care of their beautiful yards.
